This viewer performs as expected. More viewing options would be great in the future but meanwhile this app does the job quite well. Nice and responsive on Air2. Get it.
The documentation is either incorrect, or the current version has a bug. It does not register with the OS to indicate that it can open .skp files. Attempts to open from Drive result in the "cannot open/select app" message, but the Sketchup app does not appear in the list of apps.
I use this app for planning, changes, and adjustments for models files. The current version of the app no longer has file associations or there is a bug, as others have said, or the app is incomplete. The only source that opens is from the 3D warehouse. At this point a waste of money and I have no more use for it.
Agree with others, this has the potential to be very useful IF it displayed dimensions. With out it - can only be used to share concepts. $10 bucks is way too steep with the existing functionality. Fingers crossed more work is going into improving this app.
This app is terrible, no dimensions, totally worthless
The improvements made to this version of SketchUp Viewer are great! With much improved stability, I can review my projects from my phone with great clarity and with the same options as if I were working from my PC, including measuring. The developers truly deserve to be congratulated on putting out a product worthy of the Trimble brand!
I use sketchup for woodworking. This version allows me to bring design into the shop, complete with dimensions and live 3d view. I could not be more pleased.
It works well, and the animation player and scene tabs are great! Well worth the cost.
No iCloud support
As of the last update the zoom and pan on an otherwise smoothly working model has become laggy and entirely unusable. My model did not change, only installed the update and now I cant use it. Working on iPad Pro, restarted nothing running in background. The update is broken.
As a big user of sketchup I was looking forward to this tool as a means of easily showing clients our work via un iPad instead of lugging a portable PC... But what a disappointment; I have uploaded several skp files of differing sizes and complexities and even now after several hours I still get a stupid message telling me that the render bot has not yet processed the files so I cant look at them or download them to the iPad ! So, whilst the software is fine for exploring other peoples work, It is impossible to show ours. If the time delay is in hours, or even days (?) rather than minutes between upload and display, this is just no use for a professional :-(
I agree with robsnetadodeusdolar.
until it is ready to use. No sign in possible. Today it is crap. Now it runs.
very poor performance with complex geometry! Not usable for proffessional needs!
The last update 2.1.51 from the 3rd of October doesnt improve the app it destroys the layer visibility for textured surfaces which lets you see surfaces behind another. Also on every startup it now asks to update to the current version which is installed already. Deleting and reinstalling the app doesnt help as well. For the price of 10 € this is completely useless now. Thanks for publishing an update which wasnt tested before obviously. I highly recommend not to buy this app at the current stage and if you bought it already ask Apple to refund the price!!!
Wow -,Needs to be reworked!!! how can you sell that app, if it crashes even with the shipped demo-3d-model tanzstudio, while browsing through the scene or changing camera parameters, didnt you test before publishing??? A big disappointment, guys
Works fine, but without the ability of displaying dimensions (arrows and values) its not nearly as useful as it could be.
Very, very disappointing. Unbelievable, but even for almost 9 Euros they don’t allow you to access your own models unless you first uploaded them to Trimble. I’m a Sketchup Pro user, I paid for making my own models. Why do I have direct access to my own models?
I am using SketchUp to visualize my homework at any place. The Import from SketchUp Make works well and so this is one of my most used tools.
